Juan Eduardo Gómez is an American artist born in Colombia. Gomez left his country in 1989 to study art and found a new home in New York City, where he can practice his devotion to the art of painting. He received a BFA in Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Gomez received The Richard and Hilda Rosenthal Foundation Award for painting from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
Gomez exhibitions have been reviewed in Art in America, The New York Times, The New York Sun, ArtNexus, and zingmagazine. Gomez paintings are in the permanent collections of the High Museum of Art (Atlanta, GA), Museum of Fine Arts (Boston, MA), Colby Museum of Art (Waterville, ME), Hispanic Society of America (New York, NY), Farnsworth Art Museum (Rockland, ME), Bowdoin College Museum of Art (Brunswick, ME), Dikeou Collection (Denver, CO) and The San Antonio Museum of Art in Texas.
