Juan Eduardo Gómez is an American artist born in Bogotá, Colombia. Gómez left his country in 1989 to study art and found a new home in New York City, where he practices his devotion to the art of painting. He received a BFA in Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Gómez received The Richard and Hilda Rosenthal Foundation Award for painting from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
Gómez exhibitions have been reviewed in Art in America, The New York Times, The New York Sun, ArtNexus, and zingmagazine. Gómez paintings are in the permanent collections of the High Museum of Art (Atlanta, GA), Museum of Fine Arts (Boston, MA), Colby Museum of Art (Waterville, ME), Albright-Knox Museum (Buffalo, NY), Hispanic Society of America (New York, NY), Farnsworth Art Museum (Rockland, ME), Bowdoin College Museum of Art (Brunswick, ME), Dikeou Collection (Denver, CO) and The San Antonio Museum of Art in Texas.
